Bengaluru's inaugural underground air-conditioned marketplace, Palike Bazaar, situated in Vijayanagar near the Metro and bus stations, opened to the public last Sunday. Representing the first underground market in South India, it is reportedly inspired by Delhi's Palika Bazaar. Furthermore, a noteworthy development in the city's subterranean commerce is the approval of the Tunnel Road project aimed at alleviating Bengaluru's persistent traffic congestion. The extensive 18-kilometre dual-tube tunnel, stretching from Hebbal Flyover to the Central Silk Board Junction, will feature five entry and exit points. However, substantial time will pass before residents can access this Tunnel Road.
